Inside a tent near the dungeon entrance, Adol of the Holy Sword Guild spoke to Gardi.

“I’ve finished organizing the supplies. We’re ready to depart anytime.”

“...Is that so.”

A dark tone escaped Gardi’s lips.

“Then, let’s return to the town of Tansa.”

“Gardi, how will you report this to Kilsas?”

“We have no choice but to be honest. All the other guild members were killed by the demons.”

“But if we say that, our reputation—”

“It won’t drop!”

Gardi’s voice sharpened.

“Those Moonlight Guild fools will probably get killed by those demons anyway.”

“Even Sylphiel, one of the Twelve Heroes?”

“Yeah. Even Sylphiel can’t beat those demons.”

Gardi’s body trembled for a moment.

“After fighting Daglud, I understood. His strength is on another level. He might be close to the Six Demon Stars.”

“The Six Demon Stars? The Demon King’s commanders?”

“Yeah. Even with multiple S-Rank adventurers, I doubt they can defeat him.”

“So, does that mean the Moonlight Guild will fail this mission too?”

Gardi nodded slowly at Adol’s question.

“The chances are high. There were a lot of enhanced skeleton soldiers as well.”

Gardi smiled with a tight expression.

“That would be ideal. Kilsas might understand that.”

Adol let out a small sigh.

“I wish Yakumo and his party would be wiped out too.”

“Hmph. If those guys meet Daglud, they’ll be dead in no time. Even if Kinako is strong, the other three aren’t much.”

Gardi scratched the wolf ears on his head.

“Well, they were unlucky. Taking such a dangerous quest…”

At that moment, noise came from outside the tent.

Gardi and Adol stepped outside. Looking toward the dungeon entrance, they saw the Moonlight Guild members and the investigation team.

Their eyes widened.

“How did they rescue the investigation team? They should have been captured by Daglud.”

Adol pointed toward Yakumo near Sylphiel.

“That’s Yakumo and the others. They were operating with the Moonlight Guild?”

Voices from the Adventurers’ Guild staff reached their ears.

“As expected of the Moonlight Guild. Defeating demons and rescuing the investigation team.”

“Yeah. I thought the rescue mission would fail after the Holy Sword Guild was wiped out.”
